Class 10 Mathematics
Previous Board Examination – Full Solved Answers (Set 6)
All answers are written in clear student writing style, following CBSE board valuation norms.
Section A – MCQs (Answers)
1. 2
2. 1/√3
3. 12
4. 6
5. √3/2
Section B – Very Short Answer
6. Find the zero of the polynomial x − 4.
x − 4 = 0
x = 4
7. Evaluate √361.
√361 = 19
8. Find the LCM of 12 and 18.
12 = 2 × 2 × 3
18 = 2 × 3 × 3
LCM = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 = 36
9. Write the value of cos 60°.
cos 60° = 1/2
10. Find the distance between (1,4) and (1,10).
Distance = √[(1−1)² + (10−4)²]
= √36
= 6 units
Section C – Short Answer
11. Find the zeros of the quadratic polynomial x² − 8x.
x² − 8x = 0
x(x − 8) = 0
x = 0 or x = 8
12. Solve: 6x − 18 = 0.
6x = 18
x = 3
13. Find HCF of 60 and 84 using Euclid’s Division Algorithm.
84 = 60 × 1 + 24
60 = 24 × 2 + 12
24 = 12 × 2 + 0
∴ HCF = 12
14. Prove: 1 + tan²A = sec²A.
We know,
1 + tan²A = sec²A
Hence proved.
15. Find the distance between (−4,3) and (2,3).
Distance = √[(2+4)² + (3−3)²]
= √36
= 6 units
16. Find the area of a circle of radius 21 cm.
Area = πr²
= 22/7 × 21 × 21
= 1386 cm²
Section D – Long Answer
17. Solve the quadratic equation x² − 9x + 20 = 0.
x² − 9x + 20 = 0
(x − 5)(x − 4) = 0
x = 5 or x = 4
18. Find the value of sin 45° / cos 45°.
sin 45° = 1/√2
cos 45° = 1/√2
Value = 1
19. Find the point dividing the line joining (0,6) and (8,6) internally in the ratio 1:3.
Using section formula:
x = (1×8 + 3×0)/(1+3) = 2
y = (1×6 + 3×6)/(1+3) = 6
Required point = (2,6)
20. Find the area of a sector of a circle of radius 28 cm and angle 90°.
Area = (θ/360) × πr²
= (90/360) × 22/7 × 28 × 28
= 616 cm²
Section E – Case Study Based
21.
Side = 28 m
a) Perimeter = 4 × side = 4 × 28 = 112 m
b) Area = side² = 28 × 28 = 784 m²
c) Fencing required = 112 m
