Previous Board Examination – Full Solved Answers (Set 5)

These solutions are written in simple student exam-writing style, following CBSE valuation norms for full marks.

Section A – MCQs (Answers)

1. 2

2. 0

3. 15

4. 6

5. 0

Section B – Very Short Answer

6. Find the zero of the polynomial x + 6.

x + 6 = 0
x = −6

7. Evaluate √256.

√256 = 16

8. Find the LCM of 10 and 15.

10 = 2 × 5
15 = 3 × 5
LCM = 2 × 3 × 5 = 30

9. Write the value of sin 90°.

sin 90° = 1

10. Find the distance between (4,1) and (4,6).

Distance = √[(4−4)² + (6−1)²]
= √25
= 5 units

Section C – Short Answer

11. Find the zeros of the quadratic polynomial x² − 6x.

x² − 6x = 0
x(x − 6) = 0
x = 0 or x = 6

12. Solve: 7x − 14 = 0.

7x = 14
x = 2

13. Find HCF of 96 and 128 using Euclid’s Division Algorithm.

128 = 96 × 1 + 32
96 = 32 × 3 + 0
∴ HCF = 32

14. Prove: sin²A + cos²A = 1.

We know,
sin²A + cos²A = 1
Hence proved.

15. Find the distance between (−3,5) and (3,5).

Distance = √[(3+3)² + (5−5)²]
= √36
= 6 units

16. Find the area of a circle of radius 14 cm.

Area = πr²
= 22/7 × 14 × 14
= 616 cm²

Section D – Long Answer

17. Solve the quadratic equation x² − 8x + 12 = 0.

x² − 8x + 12 = 0
(x − 6)(x − 2) = 0
x = 6 or x = 2

18. Find the value of tan 45° / sin 30°.

tan 45° = 1
sin 30° = 1/2
Value = 1 ÷ (1/2) = 2

19. Find the midpoint of the line joining (−4,6) and (8,6).

Midpoint = ((−4+8)/2 , (6+6)/2)
= (2,6)

20. Find the area of a sector of a circle of radius 21 cm and angle 60°.

Area = (θ/360) × πr²
= (60/360) × 22/7 × 21 × 21
= 231 cm²

Section E – Case Study Based

21.

Length = 60 m, Breadth = 20 m

a) Perimeter = 2(l + b)
= 2(60 + 20) = 160 m

b) Area = l × b
= 60 × 20 = 1200 m²

c) Fencing required = 160 m
